Make the issue of Homeless GLBTIQ youth known: take the survey

OUR Center has put out a call for GLBTIQA community participation in the current ReImagine Reno Housing survey. They have been actively participating in the National Homeless Youth Point In Time Count in Reno for several years, as it is an important issue facing GLBTIQ youth.

Please help homeless youth by filling out the ReImagine Reno survey on housing, today. Please. The city is listening.

from Washoe County Homeless Youth PIT Count:

Hi Friends:

Please take a moment to complete the survey for ReImagine Reno related to housing Washoe County:  Reno Housing Issues

Homeless Youth Point in Time Count

The purpose of it is to connect stakeholders like yourself with the Truckee Meadows Healthy Community process to move forward on addressing our community housing needs.

While we know it’s important to be involved in the housing conversation on workforce and affordable housing needs….we see a pressing need with the Homeless Youth issue. There are few options available to these young people both in and out of the system. Currently, there is no overnight center exclusively and safely for youth to stay. Young people are not staying at our adult shelter as supported by data collected from our homeless youth central intake (Eddy House), Youth Point In Time Count, Homes4Youth Workgroup and Our Town Reno.

Please take a moment to fill out this survey and let our city know Youth Homelessness needs serious attention before passing it over for housing options.

Thank you!

Ps…There is a ReImagine Reno meeting next week focused on draft housing policies for the City’s master plan. For questions related to ReImagine Reno please contact Calli Wilsey, Community Liaison for the City of Reno Community Development Department at 775-657-4779.
